Hey, I’m Amy.

I am a qualified Art Therapist passionate about helping children and young people express their emotions and reflect on their experiences through art and play.

My approach to art therapy

Client-centred

I primarily follow a psychodynamic, client-centered approach within therapy meaning that I tailor my methods to meet the unique needs of each client and by working alongside children and young people, I help them process and express their emotions, feelings, and personal experiences through engaging with art materials and play.

I have found this method extremely beneficial when working with clients who live with autism and/or ADHD as I am able to adapt my practice to meet any additional requirements. This may be as simple as adapting the art materials used to meet sensory needs or personal interests, such as working digitally.

Non-directive

I take a non-directive approach to allow the client to explore their experiences and emotions in a way that is most natural to them. This personalised approach ensures that each child receives the support they need to navigate their emotional landscape effectively whilst building a supportive and trusting therapeutic relationship.
